The Topic

We all know that much of the trade of goods that occurs around the world is governed by Trade Agreements and most of us have a general idea of what that means. But with all the changes occuring lately and so much discussion, let's face it, do we really understand the repurcussions of swaping one trade deal for another? Gene will help us look at the basic mechanics in a way that makes sense to non-economists and that we can all understand: through our own wallets! We will also hear an overview of the key Trade Agreements we keep hearing about, what their key points are and what some of the most recent changes mean for the US, French, and global economy, as well as for companies and for families. Gene will also touch on the outlook for global trade overall, and how it is impacted by current events such as the coronavirus, for example.
